A fabulous Etruscan Revival Victorian brooch in 14K yellow gold with a carved sardonyx cameo depicting a classical woman's profile. The cameo is set within a shield shaped beaded edge frame. The back of the brooch has a crystal with woven brown hair below. The cameo measures 2 1/4" by 1 1/4" and is in excellent condition. The carving is fine and detailed. The piece dates c. 1870.
