A fine Japanese Nineteenth Century Meiji Period Fukugawa porcelain jardiniere, circa 1880. The large jardiniere with an inverted rim has an outer surface painted with five bands depicting floral and geometric elements. The interior is decorated with colorful falling leaves. This late, Nineteenth Century carved agate group with birds and flowers, is mounted on a bronzed later base (c. 1920) and is typical of the lighting favored during the first years of the last century. The actual carving measures 7" high, and 4 1.4" wide. The stand is 4 1/4" high, and from the base to the top of the fixtures is 17" high. The lamp itself shows normal wear, while the agate carving appears to be in excellent condition...
